About
School systems and educators are not immune to rising costs and inflation. We often hear of a school board's fiscal responsibility to their constituents, however, often ignored is the indirect economic activity and investment driven by the desire to be in a community with a thriving school system.
The SMS School Board must be sure to balance its fiscal responsibilities with its mandate to an equitable education for all students and to meet them where they are at to preserve our town's advantage and reputation of having a school system that attracts families and skilled, dedicated educators.
We must empower our educators to embrace new ideas and methods for data gathering and analysis that will allow them to target their expertise and develop interventions based on that data to grow students weaknesses into strengths before they have fallen behind. This approach is not only best for students, but, must be considered a long term investment to realize substantial savings in the avoidance of costlier interventions in the future.
A problem-solving IT professional with experience working closely with local, state and federal government agencies.
I started my IT career here in Stratham working for Vitronics Soltec*, an industrial manufacturer of assembly line soldering equipment, as a Computer Support professional and was quickly promoted to System Administrator.
When Vitronics Soltec closed their facility in Stratham I moved onto working for NextEra Energy*, a leading clean energy provider, at their Seabrook Station Nuclear Power Plant facility where I have been for the past 15 years working in several IT roles.
As a member of the Seabrook Emergency Planning Organization (EPO) I hold multiple roles with an organization trusted with the protection of the public in the event of an emergency at Seabrook Station and directly responsible to community stakeholders.
I've also worked collaboratively on IT solutions for the on-site staff from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in their role overseeing the operations at Seabrook and with both the NH Homeland Security Emergency Management (NH HSEM) and Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) as part of my role of designing IT and notification systems between Seabrook and our stakeholders.
